Oral Presentation

Many dread their oral presentation but stay focused on the key important elements: all of the audience are in the same situation as you and therefore are there as support for you.

With fear now out of the way (yeah!) you can concentrate on the task. In semester one, the task requires you to analyse the way a news report conveys its viewpoint to the audience. This is done in a variety of ways but it is important to remember that the report is constructed by an author, and just like when you construct your pieces, you are very deliberate in your use of language to suit the audience, purpose  and form.

This task is linked clearly to the language analysis but here you are not just considering the written word, but the sound and visuals which accompany the words. This is generally an area of strength for you all. Consider carefully the construction and you will be successful.

Consider: What would be an effective way of starting the oral presentation? Any comments?
