Year 12 AA

Elevating your analysis from the work you have completed in previous years at year 12 involves you cultivating a more complex understanding of the task.  At the heart of this task is an appreciation of how an author carefully and deliberately constructs their communication. Your task is to demonstrate your ability to analyse how the author has done this, and central to your analysis is a strong awareness of how and why the author has crafted their arguments for their target audience(s).

Clearly there are links between the text studies and the creative text work: the former where you demonstrate an appreciation of an author’s text and the manner in which it is constructed, and in creative text tasks, you are the author who fashions a text to suit your stated purpose. It is important to see these elements as connected so that you can build these linked skills and see how they transfer from one task to another.
